Jenkins, Jennifer

Executive Director at Friends of the Animals Baton Rogue

Jennifer Jenkins has a decade of experience in animal welfare. She started as a foster and volunteer before working her way up to Placement and Adoption Manager at a shelter in Baton Rouge. During her tenure in animal welfare, she has held various positions. These include Shelter Manager at Jefferson Protection and Animal Welfare Services in Jefferson, LA; Operations Manager and Community Engagement Manager at Brandywine Valley SPCA; and, Pets for Life Coordinator at the Louisiana SPCA. It was while working with these different organizations Jennifer realized that keeping pets with their families and concentrating on the human-animal bond are important keys to reducing the number of companion animals in our overcrowded shelters. Currently, Jennifer serves as the Managing Director at Friends of the Animals, a dog only and foster based rescue in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
