Title: Seeking connections, gaining commitment: How to navigate diversity, equity and inclusion dialogues

Description:

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) continues to rise as a priority for every industry, and  the animal welfare profession is no exception. DEI efforts require collaboration and commitment from across the organization to make progress sustainable. However, DEI is often mischaracterized or misunderstood, and people don’t always have the tools to be able to engage in complex and emotional conversations that may arise.

This learning lab will equip animal welfare professionals with the skills necessary to lead constructive dialogues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Leaders will engage in self-reflection, large and small group activities, and 1:1 discussion. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of what it takes to create inclusive work environments for all and to navigate common challenges that may impede progress.
